St. Augustines Welcomes New Reverend

A new vicar will be installed at St Augustine's Church on Monday night.
Reverend Chris Simmons, 59, will be licensed by the Bishop of Hull, the Right Reverend Richard Frith, and installed by the Archdeacon of the East Riding, the Venerable David Butterfield. A congregation of more than 200 is expected to welcome Rev Simmons, who will become the priest in charge of Skirlaugh with Long Riston, Rise and Swine.
Originally from Berkshire, Rev Simmons has worked in Yorkshire for 26 years and comes to the parish from All Saints Church, Pocklington.
He succeeds Rev David Perry, who retired 14 months ago.
